Our 15th Annual Attitudes & Attire™ Luncheon and Fashion Show will be held on March 2, 2012 in the Grand Pavilion of the Dallas Trade Mart.  This year’s fashion show will feature designs from our Presenting Sponsor, Elements, which was recently named D Magazine’s “Best of Big D” women’s clothing boutique.  Our Kim Dawson Award recipient is Sarah Losinger, one of our city’s most dedicated and active philanthropic leaders.  Anna de Haro, Public Affairs Director at Clear Channel Dallas/Ft. Worth will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies.

About the Kim Dawson Attitude Award

Attitudes & Attire™ Founder Lyn Berman created the Kim Dawson Attitude Award to honor one woman annually whose standout personality and accomplishments exemplify the full potential of all women. Kim Dawson understood first hand the difficulties facing women today. In 1973 she met and conquered her own set of challenges to found her own company—a modeling agency—at a time when it was very difficult for women to own their own business. The Kim Dawson Agency became an internationally respected name in the world of fashion.

Because of her knowledge of the challenges facing all women, Kim was wonderful and supportive to everyone she met. She treated all women with respect, and ensured them they can “rise above it all”. In 2010, Kim Dawson passed away at the age of 85. Although Kim is deeply missed, her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and in the example she set for others.

The annual recipient of the Kim Dawson Attitude Award is based on two key dimensions: who she is and how she empowers others.

Who she is:
Image. She has a professional image and a commanding presence.
Committed. She devotes her time to helping others.
Resourceful. She maximizes available avenues and people.
Attitude. She exudes confidence and self-esteem.
Self Starter. She takes the necessary steps to make her own life better.
Integrity. She is honest and dependable.

How she empowers others:
Confidence. She instills the confidence in others that they can do anything.
Self Respect. She teaches others to respect themselves and demand respect from others.
Role Model. She does it before she expects it to be done by others.
High Expectations. She sets high standards and believes you can achieve them.
